A new trailer for the stealth action game Steel Seeds shows combat, landscapes and additional ways to explore the map with one very helpful friend.
Storm in a Teacup founder Carlo Bianchi took us to the Future Games Show Summer Showcase to discuss the story, action, and new gameplay footage with us in a three-minute trailer Steel Seeds.
In a post-apocalyptic world where artificial intelligence has taken over after a major man-made climate catastrophe, you play as Zoe. She’s as cool as a cybernetically enhanced survivor who roams the underground city in hopes of finding her father. Seen as an anomaly by whatever machines it encounters wherever you explore, it is incredibly hostile and requires caution and stealth more than anything else.
“Be a silent killer,” said Bianchi. “The environment gives you many ways to deal with your enemies.” Well-executed stealth kills will be highly rewarded, so better take your time and look around the opposition instead of charging straight for the head.
The new gameplay footage also showed off Zoe’s helpful little robot friend, Kolbe. This drone-like companion can be used by the player to scout, interact with the environment, and even engage in combat. Zoe and Kolbe’s bond “will be stronger the more challenges they face,” Bianchi said. Zoe and Kolbe can become stronger thanks to an extensive skill tree that will allow players to develop their passive and active abilities.
If solo stealth is your thing, check out our best single player games while you wait to jump into the cyber apocalypse Steel Seeds. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until 2024 for the game to launch, but you can add it to your wishlist on Steam right now.
